Programs we offer
Daily Living Support
Working with clients and/or guardians to develop an individualized, goal-oriented plan to foster independence and develop skills for personal growth, while empowering clients. This is a baseline service which supports clients in developing skills and learning how to live independently. Common goals for clients in our Daily Living Support (DLS) program include: Learning how to maintain their home, grocery shopping appropriately, maintaining boundaries, coping strategies, time management, and engaging effectively in community settings; just to name a few.
Eligibility Criteria
Active MaineCare insurance coverage
Grant funds available for those who qualify and do not have full Mainecare
Age 18 or emancipated
Documentation of a qualifying mental health diagnosis that is under one year old and is considered eligible under the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
For those without an eligible diagnosis of schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder, a clinical letter attesting to the need for Daily Living Support services due to the following at-risk criteria:
- Homelessness
- Psychiatric hospitalization
- Criminal justice involvement
- Residential mental healthcare placement
- We provide Daily Living Support services in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Waldo Counties, as well as parts of Somerset and Franklin Counties.

Skills Development Services
Working with clients and/or guardians to develop an individualized, goal-oriented plan to foster independence and develop skills for personal growth, while empowering clients. This is a more advanced program than our daily living skills program, furthering the development of independence through a more intensive skills development process. Common goals for clients in our Skills Development (SD) program include: vocational opportunity exploration, education advancement opportunities, budgeting, further exploring natural resources and community socialization opportunities, self advocation, and symptom management techniques; just to name a few.
Eligibility Criteria
Active MaineCare insurance coverage
Age 18 or emancipated
Documentation of a qualifying mental health diagnosis that is under one year old and is considered eligible under the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Case Management
Working with clients and/or guardians to develop an individualized, goal-oriented plan to help link and connect clients to community resources such as providers, transportation services, resources for clothing, food, and shelter, and so much more. Community Integration (CI) services also assist clients with accessing community crisis services as well as coordinating care with other providers.
Eligibility Criteria
Active MaineCare insurance coverage
Grant funds available for those who qualify and do not have full Mainecare
Age 18 or emancipated
Documentation of a qualifying mental health diagnosis that is under one year old and is considered eligible under the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

Outpatient Therapy
Whether you are just beginning recovery from emotional difficulties, or have been working toward healing for some time, outpatient therapy offers many tools and strategies to assist you in managing your emotional challenges. Break of Day Mental Health Group works to empower clients to chart the course of their own recovery using a holistic, person-centered approach and creating a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space for clients to explore emotional, interpersonal, and sociocultural, and familial issues.
Eligibility Criteria
Any person looking for assistance with Outpatient Therapy Services may qualify.
We provide Outpatient Therapy services in Androscoggin, Cumberland, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc, Waldo Counties, as well as parts of Somerset and Franklin Counties.

Representative Payee
Working with clients within the guidelines of the Social Security Administration to ensure basic needs are met by assisting clients in managing a budget to include food, shelter, and clothing. In addition, we work with clients to manage a monthly budget that is within their means of living to assist in money management, oftentimes in congruency with Community Integration services to work toward budgeting appropriately for all financial needs.
Eligibility Criteria
Any person looking for assistance with money management may qualify for this service.
We provide Representative Payee services across all parts of the State of Maine.
